Knobs you should trying pouring peroxide in your ear. I have a lot of wax and skin flake build ups in my ear that cause me a lot of irritation and when it gets bad I lay on my side and have my wife pour some in my ear, let it fizzle for several minutes/till the bubbling is dying down and then I flip and have her do the other side. I have found that this clears up most of the build up far better then any of that over the counter crap(which seems to do nothing). Honestly the next day I feel like I have a different set of ears.
Edit - Boston do you find anything about Persona 3 for the PSP to be superior to the PS2 version? I just bought it since my wife had been bugging me to replay it forever and so far we are not enjoying it as much as the PS2 version. We miss the music, we miss the movies, the charcter movements. We also find it hard to see the shadows/enemies on the screen meaning its easier to get attacked from behind.

Nice show, but in regards to BlazBlue 2. Here is the Release shedule for us brits for the month of July Notice the lack of BlazBlue 2, once again theres no pal conversion for BlazBlue, so expect it to come out Next Year for us. However if you want to do TVGP Fight Night, I do have the original BlazBlue

I really enjoy playing the game as the female character, especially because it's such a different experience. I feel like I'm getting to know completely different sides of characters that I knew from the male MC in the first two versions. I also really like the streamlining of the menus, persona skill replacements (a higher bufu will replace the regular bufu, for example), and the better control over your party in dungeons. I absolutely agree about the missing pieces from the PS2 versions, but I'm personally enjoying it even with the limitations. I'd probably recommend FES if a person was given the choice for the reasons you listed, but if someone couldn't play PS2 games and had a PSP, it's pretty great. And it's great to have a really high quality portable RPG. Nice show, but in regards to BlazBlue 2. I certainly wouldn't want us to leave you guys out.

I mean yes having the girl character is giving a new perspective, I like the menu system that lets me jump around the world and I like being able to grind easily while watching a movie. However, I really do miss the music and charcter animations and this tiny screen really sucks...wish I had a 3000.

Have you played FES before? If not, I'd recommend playing that one, for sure. It's kinda funny, though; I keep thinking while I'm playing P3P that maybe I should play through P4 again (yay Chie!). I must resist, though. I must stay strong

After I got over the initial disappointment with not seeing revamped anime cut scenes with the female lead, I'm vastly enjoying all the new dialog via the female lead. I think Boston is enjoying it more than I am but at the same time I am playing P4 at the same time. And yeah FES is probably the definitive version of the game, unless you want to play a chick.

Time to drop some Mr. Wizard food science on you guys.
Salt actually blocks the bitter receptors on your tongue. That's why salting crappy coffee make it taste better. Or you could just drink good coffee. But I'm a coffee snob these days.

Notes of randomness:
1) Two Arc the Lad games for PS2, both probably available in the bargain bin for $5. The first one (Twilight of the Spirits) has a really neat combat system in that they take the concept behind tactics RPG's but remove the grid. So you get free roam (kind of like Valkyria Chronicles) to an extent and your damage areas are based on circles. Unfortunately the story pretty much blows though. Now the PS1 Arc games, those were amazing.
2) Try out the multi-player on Red Dead at least once. All the matches start out with a classic draw.
3) I was the questioner on the SotN bit. I meant to dig my copy out and verify. Its a lot harder to grind the familiars on the PSP. Stupid retarded Sword Familiar until level 90-something.
3) You guys know that Kinect is more than likely only going to support 2 players right? If it was designed with 2 players in mind and dedicated hardware and now we're getting Kinect so that it uses a good chunk of the 360 processing power, its going to look and play like the Wii without controllers with more than 2 players.
Honestly I have a hard time seeing anyone taking away the casual family market away from Nintendo. I think the only company that's ever had any success with that before was Sega. The media attention Microsoft has bought themselves certainly might give them an advantage but I'm still skeptical. Plus another thing Nintendo has proven with the Wii is when price shopping, people can't do basic addition. In most cases, the Wii plus accessories are more expensive than both the 360 and the PS3. But one thing I will say, I don't see Microsoft giving up, pretty much ever so I'm sure they'll get a chunk of the casual market someday.
Personally, I'm more interested in seeing if Nintendo can make their next console as successful as the Wii.
4) Superskrull rocked in Annihilation! Represent! Bring in the mad titan Thanos!

We're learning all sorts of great science facts this week Notes of randomness:
1) Two Arc the Lad games for PS2, both probably available in the bargain bin for $5. Personally, I'm more interested in seeing if Nintendo can make their next console as successful as the Wii.
4) Superskrull rocked in Annihilation! Represent! Bring in the mad titan Thanos!
2) Oh yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to trying out the MP in RDR, I just haven't had the time to get settled into the single player yet. Hopefully after I finish Dynamic Soundtrack episode 3 3) Yeah, I got up to the point where I'd start moving across the castle to get the double jump from the rooftops and had to stop. I'll probably grab a few minutes here and there; I'm curious if the changes are in there (and I'm warming up for the XBLA CV game) 4) I forgot about that two-person limitation, but I'm hoping it'll be updated in FW later. It sounds like that's a programming issue and I'm optimistic that they'll continue to clean up and refine their code as it goes along. You do have a good point about the next Wii, though, especially since Move and Kinect will probably compete against it if Microsoft and Sony keep their consoles around as long as they say they will.

I'm all for a tvgp fight night! I just hope you can schedule it for the weekends. I've never really played blazeblue or DOA, but I'd be willing to pick them up if I could get in on the fight nights. I only have SSF4 at the moment, and I think it should definitely be in the fight night rotations. Anyway, great show as usual! And I hope to hear more about these fight nights soon.

I really liked the discussion on review scores this week. I feel pretty strongly about review scores and I don't trust a lot of them. I really liked the idea about scores based on genre, it would give you a little better idea of what your buying. Knobbs point about Crackdown 2 is exactly why. It got paned for being more Crackdown and not something new when games like God of War always get high praise and they are all the same game.

Heh, I'm a little behind--I was on vacation in Wisconsin Dells from Friday until late yesterday, so I didn't get to listen to TVGP until today. Great show this week. LOVED the discussion about review scores--I've always felt that review scores were an ineffective way of learning about a game.
Oh, and HELL YEA SHIRT.WOOT.COM! I have like 30 of those shirts.

Nice show guys. It was cool to hear so much fighting game news, and I have to say, I'm really excited for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken. I don't even own a PS3 or Xbox 360, but I'm gonna have to pick one up early next year, for sure.
You know, I think a good idea for raising funds for your show would be to sell TVGP t-shirts. Why not just upload your the logo to a website like Zazzle.com or cafepress.com & start selling shirts? I'd buy one for sure, and I bet there are plenty of other fans who'd want a shirt too. That way we get to support your show, AND have a cool shirt to boot.

I've definitely been looking into it over the last few months, but I've had little time to invest in it with everything else going on. I certainly appreciate the interest, though.

Yeah, I know you've gotta be busy with all the new stuff you're doing in addition to the podcast, but here's the beauty of the websites I suggested above: It wouldn't take any kind of financial investment to sell t-shirts. All you do is go to one of the sites, take 15 minutes to upload the TVGP logo, set the pricing margin for the shirts (which determines how much profit you guys receive from each shirt sold), and then simply direct your fans to the new web page with your shirts so we can buy em. It doesn't cost you a dime. They print the shirts on demand as they're ordered, so there's no inventory, no overhead, etc. I've used Cafepress to print some of my artwork on t-shirts, and there were no hidden catches or anything, and the only thing it cost me was the price of ordering 1 t-shirt.

As long as it doesn't run me too much money (or have a high initial cost), I'd be more than happy to get something running. If you guys want it, I can probably get something set up

I would buy t-shirts in a heartbeat, if anybody was wondering.
Knobbs, you're so right about adding salt to coffee. I've been adding a pinch of kosher salt to my coffee for almost a year now, thanks to my idol, Alton Brown. As long as you don't use too much salt (and this goes for any food), it'll only enhance the flavors of the food or drink.
